June 2025

6 June 2025

As we approach the halfway point of the year, May has been a month of sharpening our focus: strengthening leadership, tightening systems and accelerating delivery on the ground.

In Rwanda we appointed our new Country Director, Jannek Hagen. In Somaliland, two new dams were launched in Higlada and Taala-buur, and the Aroori Livestock Centre continues to take shape. In Ethiopia, the edible oil plant in Kotu reached its final stages with the first EFDA inspection completed, and the Assosa school is nearing completion.

In Kenya, a wonderful cultural celebration at our schools showed how Pharo Schools are both globally competitive and locally grounded, and we advanced early work on the creative arts project. We are also recruiting for several key roles, including a Director of the Pharo Schools Network.

Onwards, Thomas Mason, CEO, Pharo Foundation
