Dear Pharo Family and Friends,
October marked an important milestone as we welcomed our colleagues from Pharo Management to visit us across the Foundation. It was evident at every stop that our mission of operational excellence is being lived, not spoken. We have set our standard; the task ahead is to maintain and build on it.
Our schools have settled into the new academic rhythm, Nkazimulo Moyo visited Ethiopia and Somaliland as part of her onboarding, and construction of the Pharo International School in Hargeisa is underway. On water, the Higlada and Taalo Bur dams are nearing completion at 95% and 80%. October culminated in the official launch of the Wajale Project, attended by the President of Somaliland.
Across Ventures, momentum continues: Ready-Mix Concrete delivered over 1,300 m³ in October, the edible oil plant completed construction and is in final production tests, Ken Tuna is on track to become operational in early December, and the Pharo Ventures Studio in Rwanda is being refined. We have demonstrated what excellence looks like, and we are learning what being "One Pharo" truly means. Now we must make it habit.

Cold storage and food insecurity
Nearly half of fruit and vegetables in developing countries are lost before reaching consumers, for lack of cold storage. Pharo Ventures is exploring solutions to bring reliable cold storage and food security to communities across Africa.
School feeding, or the prime condition of education
By Leah Berger. Since introducing daily snacks in our Somaliland ECE centres, attendance has risen, children are more engaged, and caregivers feel less stressed about nutrition. Food is dignity, opportunity and the foundation for learning.
Groundbreaking at Wajale
We broke ground on the Wajale Development Project in Somaliland, with the President, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Pharo team. A full documentary on the project will follow.
