Dear Pharo Family and Friends,
Across the Pharo Foundation, teams have started 2026 at a gallop! In Somaliland, construction of our Pharo International School in Hargeisa has officially begun, an institution with the potential to be truly transformational for the country. The Wajaale agriculture project has faced challenges around land and community concerns; following meetings with the Minister of Agriculture and the President, we will rescope it while exploring alternatives.
In Ethiopia, two rural water projects at Tumet and Kiduyu are nearing completion, the edible oil plant has reopened, and we welcomed Fregenet Getachew as General Manager for the Pharo Health Venture. In Kenya, Ken Tuna’s site setup is complete with sourcing underway, and we appointed Nadia Macharia to lead the Nairobi Art School.
In Rwanda, preparations are underway for a new Pharo Ventures Studio, and our Teacher Capacity Building programme now supports 379 teachers across 31 public schools, reaching nearly 20,000 students. Colleagues tell me they feel focused, organised and already in delivery mode, and I could not agree more.
